We are Hoooome!!!

Well, we have officially moved into our new home in Raleigh, NC amidst a very "Rhode Island - esc" snow storm!  I am taking this week to unpack and organize so that I can be ready to bake, decorate, and ship out our Valentine's Day Cookie and Brownie Gift Boxes on Monday to arrive in time for Valentine's Day.

The Most Beautiful Cake in the World...

Yesterday, my daughters, Emily and Abby were busy playing in their room.  They told me that they had a surprise for me and that I needed to wait.  A few minutes later, I heard squealing and giggling as they slowly brought this beautiful creation into my room while they sang, "Happy Birthday".  It's not my birthday but I was delighted to see how my occupation inspires them to make beautiful creations out of ordinary things.  And of course, they asked me to take a picture and put it on my website (just like mom). =)

Bubbly Duck Baby Shower Cake

I've been taking it easy for the past few weeks as we've been planning and packing for our move to Raleigh at the end of the month.  I was so happy to be able to make this cake for a friend's baby shower this weekend.  Her sister chose this adorable Bubbly Duck theme from one of my favorite idea blogs, Hostess with the Mostess.  I love the simplicity of this cake and I thought it turned out really well!  Congratulations, Kristen!

Abigail's Bake Shop is Moving!

News Update!...As of February of 2010, Abigail's Bake Shop will be back in Raleigh, NC.  The past few months have been very busy for us as we have been planning for our newest adventure.  Some of you remember that we moved to RI from Raleigh 2 years ago.  It has been such a pleasure to be able to meet so many new people here in RI.  We have had so much fun getting to know our customers and it is truly bittersweet for us as we move back down south.  Fortunately, you will still be able to order most of our products through our website but we will only be able to create cakes locally in the Raleigh/Durham area.  Thank you for making the past 2 years so memorable.  And for previous customers in Raleigh, we look forward coming home!

A break in the midst of holiday madness...

We've been extremely busy taking orders, baking, decorating, packaging, and mailing out hundreds of holiday cookies for the past few days.  So busy in fact, that it was a  nice change of pace to receive this order for some cookies and cupcake toppers for a sweet little boys superhero birthday party.  Tuckers mom emailed me her invitation and asked me to make 30 cookie favors and 30 cupcake toppers.  I love the way they turned out!  Happy 2nd Birthday, Tucker!
